See the Cut

Privacy policy

Last updated September 2026. Plain language on purpose.

What we collect

The photos you upload, the choices you make on the upload form (cuts, current hair length, notes), your email address, and the payment record Stripe gives us (we never see your card number). We also record the time you ticked the consent box.

What we do with your photos

Your photos are used only to make your renders. To make them, they are sent to OpenAI's image API, which under OpenAI's API terms does not use them to train its models. We will not train anything on your photos either. Your photos and renders are never shown as examples, never posted, never shared. The example man on this site is AI-generated and is not a customer.

Where they live, and for how long

Your uploads are stored in Cloudflare R2 in the United States and on the one computer we use to make your renders. They are deleted 30 days after delivery, or sooner if you ask by replying to any email from us. Renders are deleted on the same schedule.

Your email

Used to deliver your sheet, to ask a question if we need to, and once, about a week later, to ask how the haircut went. Nothing else. No list, no newsletter.

What we do not do

We do not scan your face for biometric identifiers, build face templates, or run face recognition. A person compares the render to your photo by eye. We do not sell or share your data.

Your rights

Ask for a copy of what we hold, or for deletion, at any time. Email mw@marshallwhite.org. Deletion is done within a few days and confirmed by email.

Who we are
